Privacy Policy

Effective March 2026. We have written this in plain English because privacy policies should be readable.

What we collect

We collect only what is necessary to run the service. That falls into three categories:

  • Account information. Your name and email address, provided when you sign up through Clerk. Clerk handles credential storage; Nodify receives your user profile.
  • Business context. The information you enter to configure your workspace — your company name, competitors you want tracked, keywords, research focus areas. This is the core input that drives our AI research agents.
  • Usage data. Standard server logs: which pages you visit, how often you open briefings, which nodes you interact with. We use this to understand how the product is working, not to build an advertising profile.

We do not collect payment card details directly. Stripe handles that.

How we use it

Your data powers the service. Specifically:

  • Research agents. The business context you provide is sent to AI models (Anthropic Claude) and search tools (Tavily, Exa) to conduct overnight research. Queries are constructed from your competitors, keywords, and focus areas.
  • Daily briefings. Research findings are synthesized into a morning briefing, delivered to your email via Resend and available inside the app.
  • Service improvement. Aggregated, anonymized usage patterns help us improve research quality and the product interface. We do not sell individual user data for this purpose.

We do not use your business data to train AI models, and we do not share your competitive intelligence with other Nodify users.

Where your data lives

Your account data, business context, research files, and briefing history are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon (US-based). All data is encrypted in transit via TLS and encrypted at rest.

Research file attachments are stored on Cloudflare R2 object storage. All connections use HTTPS.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, billing records).

Third-party services

Running Nodify requires several third-party providers. Each handles a specific function:

  • Clerk — Authentication and session management. Your credentials are stored and managed by Clerk under their privacy policy.
  • Stripe — Payment processing. Card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
  • Resend — Transactional email, including your daily briefing and account notifications.
  • Anthropic — AI model API. Research queries and synthesized content are processed by Claude. Anthropic's API terms prohibit them from training on API inputs without consent.
  • Tavily and Exa — Web search APIs used by our research agents to retrieve publicly available information.
  • Cloudflare R2 — Object storage for research files and attachments.
  • Neon — Managed PostgreSQL hosting.

We select providers with strong data security practices and limit what each receives to the minimum required for their function.

Your rights

You have straightforward rights over your data:

  • Access. Request a copy of the data associated with your account.
  • Correction. Update or correct any information you have provided.
  • Deletion. Delete your account and all associated data from your settings page, or by contacting us.
  • Export. Request an export of your research history and briefings.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@trynodify.com. We respond within 5 business days.

Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you signed in. These are managed by Clerk and are strictly necessary for the service to function.

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party analytics services that build profiles across the web. There is no cookie consent banner because there is nothing to consent to beyond what is necessary to run the product.
